Szilvia Szőke
For me, dental hygiene is my profession
“I really like dealing with people and working with them through their smiles. It gives me a good feeling that, in addition to aesthetics, we also do a lot for their health, preventing possible diseases. I think prevention is the most important part of my work, because not only do we prevent tooth decay by removing tartar or talking about how to brush properly, but we also prevent other cardiovascular diseases.”
The love of smiling
Dental hygienist qualification: 2018
As a pledge of her commitment, she graduated from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Training of the University of Szeged, Hungary, as a dental hygienist. What she loves most about dentistry is undoubtedly the never-ending challenge, the development and the opportunity to help others in the process. Isn’t it great? Such an enthusiastic and dedicated dental hygienist is rare, Szilvia is truly worth getting to know!
Tooth loss can be prevented
According to Szilvi, tartar removal is not only important for aesthetic reasons, but also to avoid bleeding gums and bad breath. Tartar removal can prevent the development of gum disease, which starts with inflamed gums but can eventually lead to bone destruction and tooth loss.
But what else is involved in a healthy periodontium? If you have nice, healthy gums, it’s easier for your doctor to make perfect fillings, and your restorations can be nicer and last longer.
